Matt Strand Ski Race Training starts Monday!

members CrossFit Ski Race Training starting in October.  Sessions will run on Monday and Thursday nights from 7:30 – 8:30 pm for five weeks for $120 per athlete.

This program offers athletes an opportunity to get stronger, move faster, get a lower handicap and stay out of the Ski Patrol!  Matt’s experience as a ski racer, ski coach and trainer contribute to making this program a good fit for Ski Challenge participants.  By focusing on flexibility, strength, and agility, this program helps to make you the best you can be and to live a happier and healthier life.mattstrand GS

Primal Power Training!

primalpowerPrimal Power Training Systems (formerly Molitor Athletic Performance) Training program for Ski Challenge starts Tuesday, September 2 at 7:00 pm!  The program runs for 10 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  You can train one or two times per week.   Primal Power is located in Burnsville just east of 35W off of Highway 13.  If you can’t make it to the first week, or if you want to try it out, just contact Jeff for more information.  Jeff also offers personal training sessions.

Jeff Meland took over Molitor Athletic Performance last spring.  Jeff has been a strength and conditioning coach for the past three years, and has been involved in sports performance training of athletes from all ages and skill levels. He brings with him great knowledge, Passion and enthusiasm for strength and conditioning and sports performance. Jeff was a 2011 Graduate from the University of Minnesota Duluth where he earned a BASc in Exercise science. Jeff is also a Certified a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA); and USAW certified Sports Performance Coach. Jeff has worked with high school, collegiate and professional athletes, helping them reach their full potential. Jeff is currently a strength and conditioning coach for the Minnesota Swarm Professional Lacrosse.

Jeff grew up in Plymouth and has been involved in sports programs his entire life. He grew up playing hockey and was a three sport letter winner in football, weightlifting, and tennis, and he is eager to use his knowledge and passion to improve athletic performance for athletes of all ages and skill levels.

More Opportunities for Kids to Race!


Kids are welcome to participate in our “All Age” and “Adult + Kids” leagues. For Wild Mountain Sunday PM we will be holding all seven races on Expressway this coming season. If you have a kid who wants to race on Wild, they can join the Sunday AM and/or Sunday Day league. Kids are also welcome to join Buck Sunday AM and Buck Sunday PM. Sylvia Scott

We are sad to share the news that long time Ski Challenge Racer Sylvia Scott passed away on Thursday, August 14.

The funeral service, which will be a celebration of her life, will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Alma Lutheran Church, rural Argyle, MN with Rev. Dennis Gray officiating. Burial will follow at the Alma Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Argyle.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 18, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.

Updated Website

Our updated website went live today.  It still has a few missing parts, but we are working hard on getting everything filled in.  Registration and Roster information should be up in the next few days!  Our website should have everything the old one did.  It will just be easier for us to make updates and hopefully easier for our users to navigate!
