THE SKI CHALLENGE began in 1985 as a Twin Cities Metro Area recreational ski racing program allowing adults to ski on teams in a series of races. Approximately 35 participants raced in the first year of the program, today close to 1,200 racers of all ages participate per week. Ski Challenge courses are set as modified Giant Slalom. No need for shin guards or face guards. Most members participate on recreational “cheater” GS skis. Some racers use full blown GS skis. And, some of the females use Jr GS Race skis. Most participants start out on their equipment that they currently own. There is no need to buy all new equipment prior to starting.
The Ski Challenge provides an excellent racing experience for all levels and abilities of skiers. All ages from four years on up are welcome to participate. Our recreational races are well organized and user friendly. We provide an environment and atmosphere which caters to all levels of skill and competitiveness. The unique team format and scoring promote great fun, camaraderie and interaction among racers. Ski Challenge is SERIOUS FUN!
The Ski Challenge has evolved into the finest and largest team oriented recreational ski racing experience anywhere!

COVID 19 – Please note. For 2020-21 season, we will do all we can to keep our race league events and registration/check in process as “normal” as possible. We may have to change or modify a few parts of our program temporarily until the Covid risk has passed. Fixed costs remain the same whether we have an awards ceremony or not, so unfortunately, we cannot give a discount or partial refund if certain parts of the program do not occur due to the on going health crisis. Please be patient with us as we try and navigate through this constantly changing and evolving time. The History of Ski Challenge
